Austin’s premiere race track, Circuit of the Americas, is coming of its own. Not only is the only U.S. Formula OneGrand Prix race staged here each November, but any number of other world class racing events are finding a home at COTA. Not the least of these is MOTOGP, the ultimate racing series for high performance motorcycles.
Just as the Formula One Grand Prix spawned a full week of ancillary activities, MotoGP week keeps Austin a-buzzin’, bringing in hundreds, if not thousands, of motorcyclists to biking’s racing Mecca. Not the least of these events this year was the first-in-Austin HANDBUILT MOTORCYCLE SHOW , held on April 11-12 in East Austin.
Bike fabricators from all over the country brought their best work to be displayed at this outrageous show. Over one hundred incredible bikes were on display at the show, providing brain-numbing eye candy for the moto-enthusiast. And, as might be expected, the attending crowds offered a wide cross-section of biking fans.
If you missed the event this year, mark your calendar, as next year’s event is sure to surpass this one. In the meantime, click the image below to view more images from the show:
